illyStuff

This is a collection of in-game and external tools that I've written to help in my playing Illyriad. Credit to the many who have helped me in the design coding and testing of these tools.

Durc Tools

Install

This is a suite of tools that assist in keeping track of the vast amount of info in Illyriad. Among the tools are:

Spot Scan
Scan the currently visible map for locations that match parameters you set. You can set the max/min values for any of the resources, terrain types for the square and terrain types for the immediately adjacent squares.
Collectable Scan
Scan the currently visible map for items that can be collected by the various harvesters.
3sq Sov Scan
Get details of the sovereignty available in the squares surrounding the current map center out to a distance of 3 squares in each direction.
Distance Measure
Measure the distance between two points which may be chosen by any combination of current town, map center or manual entry.
Base inventory Summary
Summary of the base resources held in all your towns.
Sub Inventories
Details of all items held in your towns organised by town/sub-inventory.
Search Inventories
Search the inventories in all your towns to get details of the holdings of the given item. Where the item searched for is used in the crafting of items these will be listed at the bottom.

Sov Levels
Details of the levels of sovereignty and sovereign buildings held in each town.
Allembine
Tool to keep track of which sites you have visited as part of the Human Statues Quest.

Linkify

Install

Linkify

Ever get annoyed by not being able to click on those youtube links in GC? I did, so when I came across this user script I had to do something. The original turned every web address on a page into a clickable link but I found that it was taking a bit too long to run so I modified it to only work on links in GC.

Anatomy Name Shortner

Install

Anatomy Name Shortner

Some of the names for animal parts are so long that things don't display properly in things like the markets. This script will replace those names with a shorter version.

In-game tools

In-game tools are based on user-scripts which are pieces of code that provide modifications to web pages. Before you can install and run user-scripts you will need to install a user-script manager in your browser. There are a wide choice of these for most browsers with the exception of IE. Below I've provided links to the addons pages for Chrome and Firefox.

Chrome

Firefox

Simply click on the relevant link then search for userscript and install the script manager you want. I've used both Greasemonkey and Tampermonkey but I'm now changing to exclusively Tampermonkey so my instructions below will relate to that.

With your script manager of choice installed and enabled, the next step is to click on the link for the user-script you want to use. This will open a new tab with details of the script that you are about to install. Take a few moments to review this and make sure it is the one you want. If it is click the Install button, otherwise hit Cancel. The tab should now change to a blank page which you can close.

To check which scripts you have installed and whether they are turned on use the Tampermonkey Dashboard - click the Tampermonkey icon in your toolbar then Dashboard. This will show you details of which scripts you have installed and whether they are on or off. You can also switch individual scripts on and off from here.

Likely NPC Locations

Visit

Gives information on where each of the different NPCs are likely to be found. You can also view the info as a map. The information has been gathered over a period of time and is not 'live' so don't expect to find them exactly where shown - this is a general indication only. Further scans of the map will be done in the future which give a better indication of the likely locations.

The data on biomes may look a bit misleading at first but that is due to there being over 20 different codes for biomes in the data but several of them refer to the same general biome. For instance codes 9 and 11 both refer to the Desert biome. I've kept the occurences for each code separate in case it becomes useful in the future. The 'None' biome refers to locations that do not have a biome associated with them. Again there are several codes that refer to locations like this.

Faction Troop Sightings

Visit

Shows where troops from the different factions have been seen. The hub ranges show how far troops from a given hub are likely to travel.

Hovering over a sighting (blue squares) will show the Faction it belongs to and the coords it was seen, hovering over a hub (yellow squares) will give the name of the hub, the owning faction and the coords while hovering over a town (green square) will give the name of the town, the owning player and the coords.

There are controls for zooming and panning to show greater detail.
